Insurance

Coverage for individual mental health therapy varies depending on your contract with your insurance carrier. If we do not take your insurance, there is a possibility that your insurance provider will reimburse you for part of the cost of our sessions. You would pay for the fees and we then provide you with a superbill (a receipt with basic information that, when presented to your insurance provider, can result in their reimbursing you for a portion of the psychotherapy fees). Please note that some insurances may not reimburse anything while others may reimburse a small portion, this is up insurance carrier. Please contact your insurance carrier using the member services number on the back of your card if you have questions about copays, deductibles, or out-of-network billing.

Please note, that couples therapy is a specialized service, that I do not accept insurance for. This is due to the unique nature and requirements of couples therapy. During our couples therapy sessions, there may be times when it becomes necessary to have one-on-one sessions to delve deeper into certain issues. These sessions are considered integral to the couples therapy process and are not classified as individual therapy. As such, these one-on-one sessions will be billed separately.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you will be liable for a $50 cancellation fee.

Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
